I had my heart broken by a few cyclists, so to be honest, I had developed a complex. Paired with a few bad bike experiences and a broken heart, I refused to even get on a bike. I was always like "Ugh! Bike people and their stupid clickety-clackity shoes and their dumb spandex. Move over! I'm driving!" That was until I was matched up with the Electra Loft 7D who I've lovingly named Scout C. Darling. I was scared at first, but my car has been acting up and I thought it's about time I faced my fears and did a little immersion therapy. I went to City Bicycle Works as recommended by a friend who also bought her bike there. I told the staff that I was scared to ride a bike, but wanted to overcome my aversion and ride to work. They paired me with my now lovely Scout (in cream) and we've been inseparable ever since. She's fast, smooth, beautiful and easy to ride. We've only been together for three weeks, but I've already ridden 123.8 miles and we can't wait to take more trips. We zip over to our neighborhood gatherings and local eateries and I stare at her longingly through the window. We couldn't be happier together! Scout is a size small and I'm 5'2", 110 lbs. She's easy to maneuver around and to carry up and down my porch steps even with the two panniers (sold separately) on the rear rack. I bought her a couple of lights for $10 a piece from City Bicycle Works -- one front and one rear. Super simple and they work perfectly. On a side note, everyone at the store was super helpful. I ordered my bike late April and it was supposed to arrive in a week. Unfortunately, because the bike was a very popular model, it was back ordered until May 22nd. However, CBW did everything they could to get her to me before that date. They called more than 25 other stores to find her and they eventually she was delivered on May 4th instead of late May. I didn't have to miss Bike Month! Big thanks to everyone at CBW for tracking her down and matching me up with the perfect bike for me!

Comments:
I've had this bike for a year and have used it daily for my six mile commute. I love its upright position and the curve of the handlebars. Extremely comfortable for my commute length. A great option in between cruisers and road bikes. The seven gears allow me enough speed to feel comfortable riding through traffic and make it up decent sized hills. I do usually have to tighten the fenders up every few weeks, but I think that's pretty normal for any bike with fenders. I do recommend changing out the tires during the winter season as the stock ones don't have much tread.
